The Independent National Electoral Commission on Saturday said it viewed allegation of pre-filled election results in the ongoing Kogi state governorship election as a “serious” matter.
The commission, which reacted less than an hour after the allegations went viral, said it has directed its senior officials who are supervising the election to commence investigations immediately.
“Our attention has been drawn to a report that filled result sheets were discovered in some polling units in Kogi State.
“The Commission views this situation seriously.
“Our senior officials deployed to the State are currently investigating the incident(s). The Commission will communicate its decision earnestly.” the commission said.
NPO Reported earlier that candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dino Melaye, had asked voters to resist any attempt to manipulate the results of the election
