The 2025 N49.7 trillion appropriation bill has scaled the second reading by the Nigerian Senate and forwarded the Red Chamber’s Committee on Appropriation.
Presented before the Joint National Assembly yesterday by President Bola Tinubu, the 2025 Budget was again tendered before the Akpabio-led 10th Senate during Thursday plenary.
As seen in a post on X, the lawmakers supported the motion for the passage of the bill after the second reading.
The budget provisions, as read by the Senate Clerk, Ogbonna Nwoba, and confirmed by the Speaker, Godswill Akpabio, contained N4.4 trillion allocation for Statutory transfer, N16.3 trillion for debt service, N14.1 trillion for Recurrent Non-Debt Expenditure, and N14.9 trillion for Development Fund/ Capital Expenditure.
