Accuses Akpabio of Sexual Harassment, Abuse of Office

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has officially petitioned the Senate, accusing the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of sexual harassment and abuse of office.
Natasha, who arrived at the Senate on Wednesday in company of her husband, Emmanuel Udughan, also accused Akpabio of malicious obstruction of her legislative function.
Citing her last week’s appearance on Arise TV where she had initially made the sexual harassment allegation, the Kogi lawmaker formally included the allegation in her petition which she submitted before Akpabio.
“I am Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. I stand to raise a petition under order 40. The petition is, in my name, against the President of the Nigerian Senate, His Excellency Senator Godswill Akpabio, for sexual harassment, abuse of office, and malicious obstruction of my legislative function.
“You may recall Sir that on Friday on Arise TV, I did make some statements. And I have decided to now read this statement in a formal petition against the President of this Senate. So, it may please you, I will humbly step forward and lay this petition. ” She said.
Reacting, the Senate President referred the petition to the Committe on Code of Conduct, Ethics, and Public Petitions.
“Distinguished colleagues, this petition is hereby referred to the Committe on Code of Conduct, Ethics, and Public Petitions to be referred to the Senate has soon as practicable.” Akpabio said.
