Nigeria’s first female Vice Chancellor Prof Grace Alele-Wiliams has died.
A woman with many other records of firsts, Alele-Williams was the first Nigerian woman to bag a doctorate degree in Mathematics. She was appointed Vice Chancellor in 1985 with a tenure that was marked with stringent rules that got cultists into trouble .
Variously she was regarded as “Margret Thatcher “ for her very strict stance on university administration.
