Nigeria has again recorded rise in inflation by 34.60% in November as against 33.88% recorded in October.
This was contained in a report released by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
According to the report, the inflation rate increased by 2.64% as compared to October 2024.
On year-on-year basis, food inflation rose by 39.93% as against 32.84% recorded in November in 2023 while an increase of 2.98% was recorded on month-on-month basis in contrast to 2.94% recorded in October.
Combining the Consumer Price Index on Food Inflation across the 36 states in Nigeria on year-on-year basis, Sokoto state recorded the highest increase with 51.30% followed by Yobe state with 49.69% and Edo state with 47.77%.
In contrast, Kwara state recorded the slowest rise in inflation over the year with 31.39% followed by Kogi state with 32.95% and Rivers state by 33.27%.
On month-on-month basis, Yobe state recorded the highest rise with 6.52% while Kano followed suit with 5.95% and Kebbi with 5.68%.
Borno state recorded the slowest rise in inflation over the month with 0.76% closely followed by Adamawa with 0,90% and Kogi state with 1.91%.
Under the Urban and Rural index, NBS also recorded 37.10% (y-o-y) inflation increment in urban areas while 2.51% was recorded in rural areas.
