There is an ongoing protetest at the headquarters of the Central Bank of Nigeria in Abuja as some groups of people have besieged the location to register their displeasure against the ruling of the Supreme Court which temporarily suspended the implementation of the New Naira note on Wednesday.
The protesters are said to have come under the aegis of the Civil Society Centreal Coordinating Council. Its leader, Obed Okuwkwe asked President Muhammadu Buhari to issue an executive order to ensure that the February 10 deadline for the Naira stays.
NPO Reports that the apex court had on Wednesday ruled that the implementation for the new naira be suspended pending the determination of the substantive suit brought before it by three states, Zamfara, Kogi and Kaduna.
