The remains of late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, has arrived at Katsina State for his state burial.
As against the scheduled time for his arrival, the body of the ex-President arrived at exactly 1:59pm shortly after the arrival of his predecessor, President Bola Tinubu.
Buhari’s body arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport where it is set to be received by Tinubu before being transported to Daura for the state burial.
Also arriving at the airport were family members of the late Nigerian President with an aggrieved former first lady, Aisha Buhari spotted amongst the crowd.
Aisha Buhari, who alongside her children were cladded in black, was accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.
As against initial reports that the body of the late ex-President will be conveyed in cargo, Buhari’s body arrived in the Presidential jet also conveying his family and the delegates led by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Buhari’s body concealed in a casket cladded with Nigerian flag was received with a military procession as Tinubu, Shettima, and other dignitaries marched behind the casket.
While the casket was being ushered to a waiting ambulance, the Nigerian Guards Brigade Band could be heard rendering “God be with you till we meet again” as the body of the late former President departed the airport for his burial in Daura.
