There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari may have settled for the Commandant of the Police Academy Wudil Kano as the new Inspector General of Police.
Indications to this emerged when the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim was taken to the Presidential Villa on Tuesday after retiring IG, Mohammed Adamu led his team to receive the President at the Presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja after he returned from Dauda, Katsina state.
There have been speculations over possible extension of the tenure of Mohammed Adamu whose official retirement date was Monday.
Competent source said the President had earlier been briefed on the recommendations on who takes over after the tenure of Adamu.
Ibrahim too expected to retire from the force next year.
