President Bola Tinubu has written to the National Assembly for the increment of the 2025 budget to N54.2 trillion.
Tinubu, in a separate letters, to the Senate and House of Representatives which were read during plenary today, demanded the increment of the budget from the initial N49.7 trillion to N54.2 trillion.
According to the President, the increase was driven by N1.4 trillion additional revenue from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), N1.2 trillion from the Nigerian Customs Service, and N1.8 generated by other government agencies.
According to report, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, referred the President’s request to the Senate Committee on Appropriations for urgent consideration following the announcement of the increment.
