Former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Buba Galadima, has reacted to the demise of former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.
Galadima, an ally turned critic of Buhari, had in the wake of the former President’s passing said he has forgiven Buhari for everything he did to him.
The ex-APC chieftain made this known in an interview with DW International Radio on Monday night.
Prior to Buhari’s death, Galadima had in one of his recent interviews slammed the APC and opposition visiting Buhari at his residence.
He described them as “useless people who can’t differentiate between their left and right”, insisting the former President is of no use.
Galadima said Buhari, who he further described as the greatest fraud to ever happen to Nigeria, is not relevant in Nigerian politics and should go rest and wait for his death.
The renown ally- turned-foe of the late former President would however deny ever wishing Buhari dead while speaking on Monday.
As transcribed by Daily Trust, Galadima in the interview his shock over Buhari’s demise as he maintained that he forgiven the late former President of everything he did to him.
“In my capacity as someone who once worked closely with him, in my capacity as someone who did politics together with him, I have forgiven him of everything he did to me knowingly or unknowingly.
“From Allah we came, to Him we shall all return. I was confused and shocked when I heard of the death of our political friend, our leader General Muhammadu Buhari yesterday.
“To be honest, I never brought his death closer but as Muslims, we all know that it’s a path we will all follow. We pray to Allah to forgive his shortcomings. Frankly speaking, I’m short of words. But all I know is that as someone who worked closely with him, I have forgiven him just as he requested from all those he might have hurt to forgive him, as stated by his wife, Aisha Buhari,” he said
Galadima further described Buhari as a true patriot who had a strong faith in Nigeria and love for the country.
He said during his leadership, Buhari tried his best, and he prayed to Allah to forgive his wrong deeds.
The ex-APC chieftain expressed his condolences with the family members of the late president, his relatives, and other Nigerians, describing the death as a great loss to the nation.
According to report, Galadima was one of the signatories to the merger that birthed the APC and worked for the victory of Buhari at the 2015 general election.
In sudden twist of fate, the former National Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) dumped the APC and became a known critic of the Buhari-led administration.
