Former Presidential aide, Femi Adesina, has disclosed that late President Muhammadu Buhari could have long been dead if he had been admitted in a Nigerian hospital.
Adesina, who served as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the late ex-President, made the disclosure while speaking during an interview with Channels TV on Tuesday.
Speaking on the frequent medical trips of Buhari during his eight years tenure, Adesina held that the deceased former President had always had his medicals in London even before becoming the President.
The ex-Presidential aide held that Buhari would have long been dead if admitted to a Nigerian hospitals which according to Adesina lacked expertise.
“Like I said, he always had his medicals in London even when he was not in office. So, it was not about when he was President alone.
“He had always had it in London. And then, you have to be alive first to get certain things changed and corrected in your country.
“If he had said I will do my medicals in Nigeria just as a showoff or something, he could have long been dead because there may not be the expertise needed in the country.” He said.
Adesina reiterated that the man needs to be alive before he can carry out any societal change and lead his country.
“But he needed to be alive to be able to lead the country to a point where we will have that expertise.
“Those who talk of going abroad, they don’t know that a man needs to be alive first before he can effect a change.” He added.
