Nigerian Afrobeat Artiste Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu known as Burna boy has yesterday, arrived in his hometown to pay a visit after he won an award at the last Grammy.
It was a huge celebration as scores of indigenes including governor Nyesome Wike of Rivers welcomed the latest grammy into the statehouse featuring eminent people from the state.
Governor Wike gifted N10million to Burna boy alongside other musicians who performed at the homecoming party in Port Harcourt organised in his honour.
Governor Wike in his address, lauded Burna boy for excelling in the Grammy Awards, describing it as a huge pride for the state and country at large.
He, however, challenged Burna boy to get himself prepared for more awards as many still await the Giant of Africa.
The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards held on Sunday, March 14, 2021, saw two Nigerians, Burna Boy and Wizkid, grabbed the Grammy Award respectively for 'Best Global Music Album' with his 2020 project 'Twice as Tall', while Wizkid's win came courtesy of his feature on Beyonce's 'Brown Skin Girl', which won the award for Best Video.
