The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria has called for the arrest and prosecution of a man who said First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, should be killed.
The man, in a viral video, had said that Mrs. Tinubu, being a pastor, is an infidel. He had said that the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the President, Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima, was a ruse to deceive Nigerians.
Reacting, YOWICAN in a communiqué issued at the end of its National Executive Council, NEC meeting held in Abuja on Friday, frowned at the outburst of the cleric.
The association emphasised the need for swift action to forestall further deterioration of the security situation in the country.
“The NEC is calling for the public prosecution of the Cleric and wishes to request that the said preacher should be restricted from preaching in Nigeria to serve as a deterrent to others”, it said. In his video, he had said Mrs. Tinubu, “being an infidel should be put to death as provided for in the Quran.”
“Now, Tinubu, his wife is an infidel. As an infidel, she is a leader among the infidels.
