Celebrated CNN Anchor Woman, Christiane Amanpour Diagnosed of Ovarian Cancer

Chief international anchor for the Cable News Network (CNN) Christiane Amanpour has announced she has ovarian cancer.

The Emmy Award-winning journalist, in a program on Monday, announced that she has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

NPOreports gathered that she has been absent from her program “Amanpour” for last four weeks while undergoing treatment.

"Like millions of women around the world, I’ve been diagnosed with ovarian cancer," she said.

"I’ve had successful major surgery to remove it and I’m now undergoing several months of chemotherapy for the very best possible long-term prognosis and I’m confident. ”

She stated that she publicly revealed her diagnosis not for transparency but to stress the importance of “early diagnosis”.

According to her,  to "urge women to educate themselves on this disease."

Advising other women, she said "Get all the regular screenings and scans that you can,"

"Always listen to your bodies; and of course to ensure that your legitimate medical concerns are not dismissed or diminished."
