Popular Nigerian fashion entrepreneur, Seyi Vodi, has promised Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, to train 100 indigenes of the state in fashion designs.
The celebrity tailor who hailed from the state made the pledge while hosting Adeleke at his new facility, Vodi’s Studio, in Abuja on Monday.
Sharing his experience at the new facility in a post on his X handle, Adeleke commended the scale and vision behind the facility which has a capacity to employ over 600 staff.
The Osun governor disclosed Vodi’s pledge to train the state’s indigenes on monogramming, tailoring, fashion design, and other key areas across the fashion industry value chain.
“Today in Abuja, I visited the impressive Vodi Studios, a world-class fashion facility established by Mr. Seyi Adekunle of Vodi Studio, a proud son of Osun State.
“I was deeply inspired by the scale and vision behind the enterprise, with a capacity to employ over 600 staff. I encouraged Vodi to replicate this level of investment and creativity in Osun State, in line with our administration’s vision for a thriving creative economy.
“In a heartwarming response, Vodi pledged to launch a training program for 100 aspiring creatives in Osun before the end of the year.
“The program will focus on monogramming, tailoring, fashion design, and other key areas across the fashion industry value chain.” Adeleke wrote.
While expressing his delight in the exploit of Osun indigenes, Adeleke held that Vodi’s initiative aligned with his administration’s commitment to sustainable development and youth empowerment.
“This initiative aligns perfectly with our government’s commitment to sustainable development through job creation, youth empowerment, and innovation.
“We are immensely proud of the sons and daughters of Osun who continue to make their mark across Nigeria and around the world. I call on all indigenes of Osun State, at home and in the diaspora, to return and invest in the growth and transformation of our dear state. Our doors are open.” Adeleke added.
