Breaking! Activist Dies Few Hours To Anti-Buhari Protests

Chairman of the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaderships, CACOL, Osun State, Comrade Rufus Oyatoro is dead.

It was gathered that he died early this morning few hours to a planned protests against hikes in prices of essential services where he was billed to speak.

The deceased was also a one-time Chairman of Labour Party, Osun State branch.

Protesters stormed the streets of Osogbo, Osun State capital on Friday asking the Muhammadu Buhari administration to stop its hikes in prices of services.

News of his death was broken by a member of the organisation, Ishmael Uthman who posted it on facebook.

Uthman noted that he still spoke with Rufus on Wednesday when he lamented the hike in electricity tariffs and Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, price.

Uthman wrote, "Double blow! While we're preparing to match on the street to protest the obnoxious increment in the petroleum pump price and electricity tariff today, I woke up to receive a phone call from my leader, Waheed Lawal, informing me of your death late hour yesterday. 

"You were supposed to be part of the protest rally this morning. You spoke with me on Wednesday and I could feel your pain and expression of disappointment on the unjustified increment in the electricity tariff and  PMS pump price. 

"I'm happy you registered your voice on the unfriendly and callous decision of the Federal Government on your last day on earth. You were a leader and hero. Adieu Comrade Rufus Oyatoro, former Chairman of CDHR in Osun and Chairman of CACOL until his death."

Another Activict, Onaolapo wrote, "It's  really a blow, so sad. May his soul rest in peace."
