Few days into office, the new chairman of Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers state, Chijioke Ihunwo, has ordered the removal of Nyesom Wike’s name from the council building.
The chairman who emerged under the Action People’s Party (APP), disclosed this in a video posted on his X handle on Sunday.
As seen in the post, Chijioke confirmed the removal of Wike’s name from the the Council’s administrative building while a video attached to the post showed artisans replacing the FCT Minister’s name with Senator Obi Wali.
“We have changed Wike’s name in admin block of Obio/Akpor Council, and replaced with the name of SENATOR DR. OBI WALI.” the chairman wrote.
Recall that political unrest had met the swearing-in of the newly elected chairman with hoodlums alleged to be Wike’s supporters burning some local government.
