Chelsea FC has compounded the woes of Nottingham Forest with an emphatic 3-0 win.
The London club had on Saturday travelled to the City Ground to face the Ange Postecoglou-led side in another English Premier League showdown.
Chelsea’s sloppy start gave Nottingham Forest a blight of hope of securing their first win in eight games under Postecoglou who had recorded two draws and five defeats since taking charge of the club.
Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, came close to put the home team into an early lead after a defensive blunder.
His effort however went wide with Morgan Gibbs-White further wasting two chances in the first half.
With Chelsea’s Manager, Enzo Maresca, absent from the touchline over his red card against Liverpool in the last English Premier League match, the World Champion waited till second to make substitutions.
The introduction of Moise Caicedo, Marc Guiu, and Jamie Gittens, who replaced Romeo Lavia, Andrey Santos, and Alejandro Garnacho, respectively turned the tide for the London club.
Chelsea bounced back from their sloppy start as Josh Acheampong’s put the team into the lead with his first goal for the club in the 49th minute.
Pedro Neto would double the lead for the visitors in the 52nd minute from a free kick.
The Blues sealed the match in the 84th minute as captain, Reece James, headed home a corner kick from Brazilian wonderkid, Estevao William.
While the win stole all three points for Chelsea, the team however ended the match with 10-man for the fifth consecutive time in all competition as French defender, Malo Gusto, was sent off after picking a second yellow card with just three minutes left before full time.
