Few days after making history at the Miss Universe Beauty pageantry, Chidinmna Adetshina, has called pageantry a quit.
Adetshina, who emerged first runner-up at the global beauty contest held in Mexico and crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania last week, disclosed this during a recent interview on Silverbird TV.
The Miss Nigeria announced that she is done with Pageantry because of the trauma she had experienced.
She, however, hinted that she would be moving back to Nigeria from South African while planning to further her education and establish herself outside pageantry.
“Finishing in the top 2 [at the Miss Universe competition] is still a shocker for me.
“Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me.
“People still don’t understand how I felt. There were times when I almost quit during the Miss Universe contest.
“I’m really done with pageantry. I want to focus on myself and establish who I am. And forward my education as well.” she said.
Recall that Adetshina’s path to success began with winning Miss Nigeria, following her withdrawal from Miss South Africa amidst nationality controversy.
Prior to her invitation to Miss Nigeria, Adetshina had emerged finalist at Miss South Africa pageantry.
Her emergence would, however, be met with strong condemnation from the South African community who questioned her nationality based on her Nigerian descent.
On account of the agitation and threats, the South African authority embarked on an investigation where it was discovered that her mother had used fake identity during her birth.
Her situation drew the attention of Nigerians who expressed solidarity with her.
She would be invited by Silverbird Cinema to contest for Miss Nigeria following her withdrawal from Miss South Africa.
Following her emergence as Miss Nigeria, she represented the country in Mexico where she recorded her historical feat.
