A clash between residents of Bara community near Sagamu interchange and a group of trailer drivers has led to heavy gridlock along the Abeokuta Expressway on Saturday.
With several trucks parked along the road, several commuters were left stranded in the traffic backlog caused by the clash.
Video and picture shared on X by the Ogun State Police Command showed the trucks parked along the road, forming the temporary blockade.
While the cause of the altercation was not disclosed, the police, in a caption on the post, said that that traffic is currently being restored as the state’s Commissioner of Police, ordered the clearance of the road.
“The Ogun State Police Command informs the public that an altercation between community members and trailer drivers at the Abeokuta Expressway, Bara area near Sagamu Interchange, led to a temporary road blockage.
“The Commissioner of Police has directed the Area Commander, Owode Egba, and DPOs under his command to clear the road.
“Clearance is ongoing, and traffic is being restored.” The post read.
The Command assured the public of continued efforts to ensure safety and free movement.
