Popular comedian and skit maker, Mr. Macaroni has gone online to make a skit of a recent decision of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to offer assistance to two out-of-school children in the state.
The comedian, in the skit, had acted like the Governor who last week stopped his convoy at the Maryland area of Lagos when he sighted two children who were on their way to grind beans instead of being in schools.
In the same manner that Sanwo-Olu stopped last week, Macaroni had stopped two children who also acted the roles of the children in Sanwo-Olu’s way.
Like the Governor did last week, the comedian had asked the children why they are not in school while also promising to help pay for their education.
Opinions had been divided last week after the Governor’s video surfaced while interrogating the children.
The girls, Amarachi Chinedu and Suwebat Hussain, had claimed that their parents had no to pay their school fees and therefore were out to help in domestic duties.
Some critics had accused Sanwo-Olu of merely playing to the gallery. Many said that the Governor could not claim ignorance that millions of such children exist without being in schools.
