Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode on Friday, took to his Twitter handle, to celebrate his Shinkafi Title despite protests by people.

The Emir of Shinkafi, Alhaji Muhammad Makwashi had conferred the title of
Sadaukin Shinkafi (warrior/hero of Shinkafi) on the former Minister.

This was however welcomed with protest by some people, saying Fani-Kayode does not deserve the title. This protest include Dr Tijjani Salihu Shinkafi of Usmanu Dan Fodio University, Sokoto State, resigning his position as the Uban Marayun Mai Martaba Sarkin Gabas Shinkafi.

According to Salihu, he is no longer the Uban Marayun Mai Martaba Sarkin Gabas Shinkafi until Fani-Kayode's title is revoked.

But on his official Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode thanked Makwashi for the honour bestowed on him.

The new Shinkafi who just returned from a 7-day visit to Gov. Bello Mohammad Matawalle of Zamfara State, expressed his delight at the title.

He wrote, "Just got back from a 7 day visit to my brother Gov. Bello Mohammad Matawalle of Zamfara state. I had a great time. I thank him and the people of Zamfara for receiving me so warmly and treating me such love, warmth, respect & kindness. Matawalle is a true friend and a bridge-builder.

"I would also like to thank His Royal Highnesss, Alhaji Muhammad Makwashi, the Emir of Shinkafi, for conferring me with the ancient title of Sadaukin Shinkafi (meaning the warrior/hero of Shinkafi). This is a great honor which I cherish and I am deeply humbled and moved by it."

FFK also expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Tambari, the Emir of Maradun and Alh. Sani Shinkafi who is the Wambai Shinkafi.

He added that an essay he wrote on his 7-day visit would be published on Sunday.

"I also thank His Royal Highness, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Tambari, the Emir of Maradun, for receiving me and my delegation so warmly and for organising a wonderful reception and sumptuous lunch for us at his palace which was attended by hundreds.

"Finally I thank all the pol. leaders like Alh. Sani Shinkafi who is the Wambai Shinkafi, the religious leaders, the youth groups, the NGO's, members of the business community and the people of Zamfara state themselves for showing me so much love and kindness during my visit.
