The Federal High Court Abuja on Wednesday granted all the 12 aides arrested in the residence of Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo ( Igboho) bail.
While the court granted eight of the aides bail in the sum of N5m each, it granted another set of four N10m each.
The Department of State Security had opposed bail for the four on the grounds that they were found with firearms ranging from AK-47 and pump actions rifles while operatives raided the residence on July 1.
Lawyer to the aides of Igboho Pelumi Olajengbesi, had applied for bail for all the arrested aides.
While the DSS did not oppose bail for the eight, on the grounds that they were not found with any incriminating items when operatives raised Igboho’s residence, they argued that the other four might jeopardize further investigations if granted bail.
Olajengbesi however told the court that DSS would have make a separate application to continue to keep the four which he also argued would amount to abuse of their fundamental human rights.
After the court resumed after a break, Justice Obiora Egwuatu agreed to grant all the aides bail with other conditions.
