A Chief Magistrates Court sitting in Okitipupa, Ondo State has on Friday remanded a 25-year-old apprentice, Ayo Ajibade, for allegedly stealing four tubers of yam valued N10,000.
Mr Mayowa Olanipekun, the Chief Magistrate, remanded the accused in Okitipupa Correctional Centre until January 29, pending the determination of his judgement.
Earlier, ASP Ayodeji Omoyeigha, the Police Prosecutor told the Court that the defendant and one other at large on October 25, 2025 around 5:00 am at Kiribo in Igbekebo Magisterial District conspired to commit felony.
He said that the defendant and one other at large entered the farm belonging to one Olorunjuwon Igbasan and stole the tubers of yam.
Omoyeigha added that the offences contravene and punishable under Sections 516 and 390 (9), Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
Ajibade pleaded guilty of the offense contained in a two-count charge bordering on felony and stealing.
The suspect now awaits the court’s judgement set to be delivered on the 29th of January.
