A Lagos Magistrate Court sitting at Bolade, Oshodi, has remanded eight arrested staff of the sealed Yakoyo Abula Joint restaurant over alleged assault of the state government officials.
NPO Reported that the officials attached to the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) and Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO), were attacked by suspected hoodlums at the restaurant earlier this week.
The hoodlums allegedly hired by the management of the restaurant had launched the deadly assault on the officials following their arrival for the enforcement of environmental standards over the restaurant’s alleged discharge of untreated wastewater, fats and oil into the environment,
A video of the incident shared on X by the Lagos State Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, captured moment the hoodlums threw broken bottles at the officials and their operational vehicles.
