Court Restraints DSS, Attorney General From Arresting Igboho, Aides

An Oyo State High Court on Wednesday restrained officials of the Department of State Security and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) from arresting or intimidating Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho.

Justice Ladiean Akintola who granted the ex-parte motion restraining the DSS and AGF from intimidating, harassing, also said the government cannot block bank accounts belonging to Igboho.

Igboho’s lawyer, Yomi Aliu SAN had requested for an order following an ex-parte motion moved by him on Wednesday.

 This was at the resumed hearing on the case brought before the court where Igboho is seeking a damage of N500bn for properties destroyed in his residence when men of the DSS raided his on July 1.

The lawyer expressed the hope that the AGF Abubakar Malami (SAN) will not disobey the court order.

The matter was later adjourned to August 18, 2021 for further hearing.
