A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos state, has slammed N30 million in damage on the Lagos State Police Command over the declaration declaration of human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, wanted.
NPO Reported that the state Police Commissioner, Olohundare Jimoh, had in November 2025 declared Sowore wanted over alleged plan to incite public disorder and obstruct major roads in the state.
According to him, intelligence reports indicated plans by Sowore and his associates to stage demonstrations at strategic locations, including the Third Mainland Bridge, Lekki Tollgate, and Freedom Park over the demolition exercise across the state.
The Sahara Reporters activist had in response dragged the Olohundare and Lagos Police Command to court over the declaration.
He would announce the court’s ruling in a post shared on his X handle on Friday.
According to him, the presiding judge, Justice Musa Kaakaki condemned the declaration while awarding N30 million in damage against the Nigeria Police Force.
Sowore commended his lawyer, Tope Temokun, for handling the case with due diligence, courage, and precision.
