The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has registered 66 cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 163,063.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle late on Friday.
It stated that till date, 163,063 cases have been confirmed, 151,835 cases have been discharged and 2,058 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The agency disclosed that no additional deaths was recorded in the last 24 hours.
The Nigeria Public Health institute stated that the new infections were registered across 10 states in the last 24 hours.
The cases recorded in the 10 states included, Enugu-18, Lagos-17, Kaduna-10
Rivers-eight, Akwa Ibom-six
Kano-two, Osun-two, Jigawa-one
Plateau -one and FCT-one
The health agency said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
According to the report, 127 more people have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 151, 835.
It noted that the country’s active cases stood at 9,170, in the last 24 hours.
NPOreports disclosed that the country had tested 1,767,694 people since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.
