The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 30 new cases of the (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 166,315.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle late Sunday.
It said that no additional COVID-19 death was recorded, while the total fatality in the country remained 2,071 in the past 24 hours.
It said that the 30 new infections were reported from three states.
The agency reported that Lagos state recorded the highest number of the day followed by Rivers state.
“Lagos-26, Rivers-three and Kwara-one,” it stated.
According to the agency, 156,558 people have been released from various isolation centres across the country since the onset of the pandemic.
The public health agency said that yesterday's report includes 0 case from Plateau, Nasarawa and Sokoto States.
It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, is coordinating response activities nationwide.
Nigeria’s public health institute said that there were now 7,657 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours.
The agency said that it has tested 2,093,243 people since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on Feb. 27, 2020.
