The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 43 new cases of COVID-19 Infections, bringing the total number of cases to 165,153.
The health agency said this on its verified Twitter handle Sunday.
It stated that “On the 1st of May 2021, 43 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.
“Till date, 165,153, cases have been confirmed, 155,109 cases have been discharged and 2,063 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“The 43 new cases are reported from 7 states- Lagos (28), FCT (four), Rivers (four), Ekiti (two), Kaduna (two), Ogun (two), and Bauchi (one).”
No additional death was reported as the total fatality stood at 2,063.
It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities in the country.
Nigeria’s public health institute said that there were now 7,981 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours.
The agency said that it has tested 1,912,628 people since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on Feb. 27, 2020.
