Officials of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection on Friday sealed Sahad Stores, a popular supermarket located in the Garki area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The enforcement, which was led by FCCPC Acting Executive Vice Chairman, Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi went straight into business accusing the management of the store of shortchanging their customers.
The action of the agency came less than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu asked security agencies to go after hoarders of food items in all parts of the country.
Abdullahi told journalists that the store would remain sealed until the completion of the further investigation.
A food crisis in the country has led to outrage as many have accused the federal government of poor handling of the nation’s affairs.
Tinubu had however vowed on Thursday that he would not set price control and would not approve of importation.
He said rent seekers are the beneficiaries of importation.
