Nigerian-American afrobeat artist and singer, David Adeleke fondly known as Davido, has received a standing ovation in Georgia, where he was recognised as an outstanding citizen.
He posted this on his Instagram handle on Friday.
“This morning I attended the U.S state of Georgia General assembly meeting with the Georgia House of Representatives and Georgia state senate to be recognized as an ‘Outstanding Georgia Citizen’ … God is good.” He wrote.
He was conferred this honor at the U.S state of Georgia General assembly meeting where members of the Georgia senate and Georgia House of Representatives were present.
“We have a special guest today, I’d like to introduce David Adedeji Adeleke also known as Davido, a Nigerian American Afrobeats artist who was born in Atlanta a Georgia native, he’s up in the gallery.
“He is a three-time nominee of the Grammy award, the BET recipient of the Best International Act, recently performed at our State Farm arena and sold it out, boosting our economy right.
“He is a global artist who is promoting fine arts and entertainment which is growing our economy.” The speaker at the event said.
After the announcement, members of the Assembly rose In standing ovation while Davido acknowledged the cheers.
