Nigerian Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has expressed his gratitude to his father and Nigerian billionaire businessman, Deji Adeleke, over his disclosure of the DNA test conducted over the paternity scandal involving the singer and a lady who claimed he is the father of her daughter.
NPO Reported that Adeleke had on Wednesday conducted a press conference to address the scandal which lingered for years and propagated by controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo.’
The scandal would resurface earlier this month when alleged child of the singer, Anuoluwapo, shared a post on her Instagram page, declaring herself Davido’s oldest daughter.
Anuoluwapo had in the post recounted her ordeal and stigma faced for being Davido’s abandoned child.
While the singer had since maintained his stance on not being the girl’s father, Deji Adeleke would yesterday release the DNA results affirming his son’s stance that he is not the father of the child.
Davido, in a post on his X handle on Thursday, expressed his gratitude to Adeleke, describing him as a loving father.
“Thank you, my loving Father, … ,” he wrote.
During the press conference, Adeleke narrated how he had, alongside the singer, the mother of the child, Grace Labinjoh, and her grandmother, conducted the DNA to confirm the claim.
He further shared a copy of the DNA result which exonerated Davido from the paternal claim.
