Nigerian billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze, has raised eyebrows following his arrival in Nigeria with VIP escorts largely comprising of police officials despite their withdrawal from escort duties across the country.
As against the directive issued by President Bola Tinubu, Arthur Eze was accompanied to his hometown in Uzor, Anambra state, with convoy of armed policemen.
NPO Reported that the President had last month declared the withdrawal of police personnel attached to VIPs and their redeployment to strategic areas following his declaration of nationwide security emergency.
Tinubu would recently extend the directive to all members of his cabinet.
The Nigerian Police Force had since commenced enforcement of the directive with escorts attached to prominent individuals including political office holders and appointees.
However, video shared on Instagram on Saturday showed the police officers trooping out of the vehicles as Aruthur Eze arrived at his village for the 2025 Ofala festival with residents earlier seen running after his convoy welcoming him.
This had sparked reactions from netizens with some calling out the Nigerian Police Force while others talked down the directive.
