The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has lauded the arrest of the self-acclaimed Biafra Prime Minister, Simon Ekpa by Finnish Police.
Reacting to the development, the Director of Defence Information, Brig Gen Tukur Gusau, in a short press statement, said the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Chris Musa, was delighted with Ekpa’s trial.
The CDS, according to Gusau, looked forward to his eventual extradition to Nigeria.
“CDS is happy with his arrest in Finland, with the hope this will be a step towards his extradition to Nigeria so that he will face justice.” He said.
The DHQ had, in March 2024, declared Ekpa and other 96 persons wanted for terrorism, violent extremism, and secessionist threat against Nigeria.
NPO reported his arrest today by the Finnish Police over his incitement of civil unrest and terrorism in the southeast.
