Bayelsa State lawmaker, Sen. Seriake Dickson, has announced the commencement of the digital registration of members of his new party, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
NPO Reported that Dickson had earlier this month announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the NDC which he founded himself.
The former Bayelsa governor, in a statement issued on his official X handle on Sunday, disclosed that the party’s membership registration will commence on Monday.
According to Dickson, the registration website comprised of two portals with one dedicated to party members in Nigeria while the other portal is dedicated to those in diaspora.
“As the National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), I will be joining the National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas to formally unveil the party’s Digital Membership Register on Monday, March 16, 2026.
“This digital register is a modern, simplified, and user-friendly platform designed to enable Nigerians to register as members of the party, both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora.
“The platform provides two portals: one for membership registration for Nigerians residing in any part of the country and another dedicated to Nigerians living abroad.” The statement partly read.
Dickson explained that members who had previously registered with the party are advised not to register again, as their existing membership details will be migrated to the new digital portal.
In compliance with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Electoral Act, prospective members are expected to provide their name, address, sex, date of birth, and place of residence (where the member is registered to vote).
Other required information include state, local government area, ward. polling unit, National Identification Number (NIN), voter’s card number, and passport photograph.
The digital register, according to Dickson, will be compiled and submitted to the INEC within the time stipulated by law.
While disclosing that the party is strictly funded through membership dues, levies, and donations, the Bayelsa lawmaker called on Nigerians to join the part, stressing that the registration.
“This party, being a party of the people and not being funded by the government, will be sustained through membership dues, levies, and donations from members who are committed to building a strong, transparent, and people-driven ideological political movement.
“While registration is open and free for all, the party will appreciate donations and the payment of membership dues, and we thank those who have already done so, as shown on our portal.
“I therefore call on all Nigerians who believe in the ideals of democracy, transparency, and national renewal to register in their respective wards and be part of the growing democratic movement to build a stronger and more inclusive Nigeria.” Dickson stated.
