A mild drama has ensued as members of a Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital, staged a protest over the multiple change of their Pastor.
As captured in a video shared on X on Tuesday, the aggrieved members of the RCCG Showers of Blessings Zonal Headquarters in Rumuokwurushi area of the capital city stormed the church premises to express their displeasure over the development.
They threatened to shut down the church if the recently transferred Pastor is not returned back to the parish.
One of the church members who recorded the video disclosed that the latest transfer will mark the fifth in one year that church’s leader has been changed.
“Bring back our Pastor or we shut it down. It’s either they give us back our Pastor or we shut this church down. We say no. How long can we continue?
“This politics is getting out of hand. We refuse to let it continue. How can you change five Pastors in one year? How?
“A Pastor that just came around and was doing a beautiful job. They didn’t allow him to stay for one year.” The aggrieved member said.
