President Bola Tinubu’s list of pardoned convicts has sparked controversies as drugs barons and illegal miners topped the list.
NPO Reported that the President had on Saturday dropped the full list of 175 convicts, ex-convicts, and late nationalists granted Presidential pardon and clemency.
Meanwhile, a summary of the list shared on X by StatiSense revealed that 29.2% of those pardoned were drugs baron who ranked first while illegal miners followed suit with 24.0%.
This was followed by inmates convicted of homicide (13.5%) and Fraud/Corruption (12.3%).
Others on the list as highlighted by StatiSense include Hijacking (5.8%), Firearms (2.3%), Robbery/Theft (2.3%), Kidnapping (1.8%), Human Trafficking (1.8%). and other offenses (5.8%).
This had sparked mixed reactions from netizens with majority faulting the list of pardoned offenders, alleging that the President is supporting crimes, especially drug trafficking.
