The Directorate of State Security has denied having the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria Godwin Emefiele in its custody.
Emefiele was suspended on Friday on the orders of the President Bola Tinubu.
His suspension was made known via a statement by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
He was reportedly arrested Friday night shortly after his suspension was announced.
However, in a terse statement on its Twitter handle on Saturday DSS said Emefiele is not with it.

NPO Reports that Emefiele had been enmeshed in the Naira redesign controversy over the last eight months.
The Apex bank had announced its decision to change the Naira last year.
The policy had sparked controversy as the process of changing the currency became problematic.
After months of hardship, it was agreed that both the new and the old currencies should co-exist as legal tenders.
For months, Nigerians queued endlessly at banks for cash withdrawals.
