The Department of State Services (DSS) has nabbed a X user, Innocent Chukwuma, over alleged incitation of military coup via his X handle.
Operatives of the DSS reportedly trailed Chukwuma to Oyigbo, Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he was arrested for a post on his X handle, @TheAgroman, where he charged the military to overthrow the current government.
As shared on X on Wednesday, the Chukwuma had in the post stated that a coup is needed in Nigeria to dispose the All Progressive Congress (APC)-led administration.
“A coup in Nigeria is needed. Dispose of APC, suspend the Nigerian Government, and join the AES. That is all we need now.
“It will happen eventually. Nigerians, the military needs your support now! Only them can save this country.
“The bastard in Aso Rock has basically sold this country to the West, and they run our intelligence apparatus. Only the military can reset this country. Support them,” Chukwuma had posted.
According to the post announcing his arrest, a reliable source disclosed that the suspect is cooperating with DSS investigators.
Meanwhile, Chukwuma’s arrest is coming days after an exclusive report by Sahara Reporters revealed the detention of 16 senior military officers by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) over an alleged coup plot against President Bola Tinubu.
The report alleged that Tinubu’s suspension of the annual National Parade during the October 1st Independence Day celebration was borne out of the plot to assassinate the President.
A fresh report published on Tuesday has disclosed the raid of the Abuja residence of a former governor and former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, in connection with the alleged coup plot.
According to insiders, a “special military team” carried out the operation after intelligence linked the “former South-South governor” to secret meetings allegedly held with some of the detained military officers.
