Arsenal have revived their English Premier League title hope as they survived 10-man Chelsea scare with 2-1 victory.
Having dropped point in their last EPL match, the Gunners hosted Chelsea at the Emirates stadium on Sunday for another epic London derby.
The Mikel Arteta-led side however won the bragging rights again as they defeated the West London club to extend their lead on the Premier League table.
Defender William Saliba gave Arsenal the lead in the 21st minute from a trademark corner routine.
This would however be ruled out with an own goal by Piero Hincapie just before halftime.
Another Arsenal’s corner in the secondhalf put them back into the lead as Justin Timber headed the ball past Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez.
Chelsea’s hope of comeback would be dealt a huge blow as Pedro Neto’s two quick yellow cards reduced them to 10-man.
The World Champions however remained undeterred as intensified their search for equaliser but were repeatedly denied by heroic saves from Arsenal’s goalkeeper, Raya.
The defeat finally brought an end to Chelsea’s six-match unbeaten league sequence under new manager Liam Rosenior.
