An Ebonyi State Governor’s aide has been caught on camera threatening traditional rulers in the state to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) or get dethroned.
The official, whose exact position could not be confirmed as at the time of filing this report, is suspected to be a member of the state governor’s, Francis Nwifuru, cabinet.
As captured in the video shared on X on Sunday, the aide, at a meeting with the traditional rulers, charged them to ensure that it is the APC that they are campaigning for in their respective communities which, according to him, was the reason they were issued certificate of office by the governor.
He warned that failure to canvass for the APC will lead to the withdrawal for their certificates.
“You reconcile by bring both parties because I believe that somebody contested with you. We are one. And most importantly, go and make sure that in your community, it is APC that you are campaigning for.
“That is why governor gave you certs of office. But if you fail to do the right thing, he will collect it from you.” He said.
Recall that Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, had also issued similar threat against members of his cabinet prior to his defection to the APC.
NPO Reported that the governor had last month confirmed his plan to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC while publicly charging his Commissioners to prepare to join him or resign ahead of his defection.
