Warns of Impending Unrest
- Safiu Kehinde
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of vote manipulation at the ongoing state level collation of the Edo gubernatorial election.
With 16 local government results collated out of the 18 LGAs in the state, PDP raised concern over the announced results of some LGAs, accusing INEC and APC of manufacturing votes.
Amongst the local government results that raised eyebrow was Akoko Edo where APC gathered 34,847 votes as against PDP’s 15,865.
Commenting on the result, PDP’s collation agent, Tony Osaigbo, alleged that the APC was awarded 800 manufactured votes at from a polling unit with zero accreditation on IREV.
Osaigbo also noted that another polling unit where 77 voters were accredited on IREV saw APC gathering 107 votes while claiming that PDP agents were denied access to the collation of the results at Akoko Edo.
