Labour Party’s Edo governorship candidate, Olumide Akpata, has reaffirmed his his stance to contest in the state’s gubernatorial election set to hold on Saturday.
Reacting to rumours of his alleged withdrawal from the race, Olumide denied the claims while addressing the Press earlier today.
The former Nigeria Bar Association President maintained that he still in the race alongside his deputy, Yusuf Asamah Kadiri.
“I am in this race. I remain in this race because that is what Edo people need today. I resist any attempt by anyone trying to convince my teeming supporters that everything has changed. Nothing has changed! We are in the race.” Olumide said.
While dismissing his rumoured withdrawal again, the Labour Party candidate charged Edo voters to exercise their constitutional right at the poll tomorrow.
“I encourage all voters in Edo state to go to the Polls tomorrow and exercise their constitutional right. Labour Party is still in this race.
“There is no iota of truth in this very insidious document that says that we are no longer in the race. We are very much in the race.” He added
