The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials to Local Government Areas ahead of the 2024 Edo state governorship election.
Following the arrival of the sensitive materials yesterday, INEC Officials, for the respective local governments, as seen in a boradcast, converged for the allocation of the materials.
Recall that Edo state election is slated to hold on Saturday 21st September, 2024.
The election will see Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo, go head-to-head with the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okphebolo, and Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata.
While there are other vying for the position, the election appeared to be a three-horse race between the APC, PDP, and LP.
Over the cause of the campaign which formally ended last week, the three party’s have been throwing shades and playing blame games at one another- especially the PDP and APC.
Exchanges of fierce controversial slurs involving Adams Oshiomole, Godwin Obaseki, and their candidates, were reported in the course of their campaigns.
However, the final bout is about to take place as Edo voters go to poll on Saturday to decide.
