Labour Party has accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) of vote buying at the ongoing gubernatorial election in Edo state.
This was disclosed by the party’s Deputy Governorship candidate, Yusuf Asamah Kadiri, while speaking to newsmen from his polling unit.
According to Kadiri, he received a distress call from LP party agent informing him about alleged distribution of N10,000 to electorates willing to sell their votes.
“I kept receiving distress call from this my pollng unit. My agent here kept calling me for the past two hours that the APC representatives were buying vote physically here, sharing 10,000 cash as they were fully here. But by the time I came, I didn’t meet that going on.
“Just about five minutes ago, somebody called me from another polling unit that they have the same issue- vote buying.
“I will leave for the people to decide. We’ve done our work, we’ve spoken to the people. If they want to vote with the conscience or against their conscience because of the little change they will be given today and continue in this situation we find ourselves.” Kadiri said.
