Former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole, has called for equal representation of women in politics following his observation of their number at his polling unit.
Speaking after casting his vote at his at Etsako West Local Government Area, Oshiomole lauded the heavy presence of women at his polling unit.
“Women are demanding for 30%. Whereas at voting by my rough estimate here, women are more than 70 percent.
“My prayer is as we improve on girl child education up to university level or HND level, and we have women who have all the skills required.
Any politicians who want to survive to win election must necessarirly not out of favour will have to reflect this number, 50-50 at least or even 60-40.” He said.
