The Nigerian Police Force has, in an overnight raid on Saturday, nabbed two suspected political thugs in possession of locally made firearms ahead of the Edo state governorship election.
This was confirmed in a statement posted on X by the Police Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi.
With few hours left before the opening of the Edo poll, the Police in said effort to curb electoral violence nabbed the two suspects namely 43-year-old Edwin Obahor, and 41-year-old, Audu Tajudeen, who was alleged to be a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“The Nigeria Police Force has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to curb electoral violence in Edo State with the arrest of two political thugs, namely: Edwin Obanor, 43-year-old and Audu Tajudeen, a 41-year-old PDP member from Ugbogbo quarters, Igara Akoko, Edo.” The statement read.
While parading the suspect, Tajudeen could be seen donning a PDP campaign vest.
