As campaign intensifies ahead of Edo state governorship election, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Edo State Chieftain, Adams Oshiomole, has accused Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki of over $100 million alleged World Bank fraud.
Oshiomole made this claim in his address to APC supporters at Owan East Local Government Area on Thursday.
He accused Obaseki of alleged collection of over $100 million loan for improving basic education in the state.
Oshiomole decried the poor condition of the state’s basic education sector which he claimed is struggling with lack of teachers.
“The worst crime Obaseki and Ighodalo has committed is to lie to the world bank and borrow 100 of millions of dollars which our grandchildren are going to pay in the name of EdoBEST with a school of two and half teachers?
“We have seen how this children are sitting on the floor and you say you are doing EdoBEST. Every community we go to, they tell us they don’t have light. If you don’t have light, how are you powering your data?
“And the man said from his office, he can see whether teachers are in school. There is no need to tell a native doctor his real name. He know when he is lying. He knows when he is deceiving himself.” Oshiomole Said.
Meanwhile, he said Obaseki have no prove of any public infrastructure built during his administration necessary to promote Ighodalo’s campaign while accusing the PDP of crowd renting and deceit of Edo people.
“They are renting crowd from one place to another. But I like to listen to what they are telling the people. I have never heard them say we build this road, we build this school, we employ this teacher, The only thing I heard is they are going to bring broadband.
“This people are far away. They are scammers. They only use big words. The basic needs of my people are clear.” Oshiomole added.
