Defends Murder of Deborah
- Safiu Kehinde
A yet-to-be identified man has threatened brutal retaliation of the murder of 16 Hausa hunters in Uromi community, Edo state, on Christian communities in the North.
The middle-aged man, in a now viral video shared on X on Tuesday, gave President Bola Tinubu and Edo state governor, Monday Okpebholo, 48-hours ultimatum to take necessary action over the murder.
Reacting to those calling for justice for the slain 200-level Shehu Shagari College of Education student, Deborah Samuel, the man defended the student’s murder.
Recall that Deborah was stoned to death and burnt on the 12th of May 2022 within the school campus over alleged blasphemy.
The unidentified man claimed that Deborah was killed for insulting Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) as against the hunters who were killed based on suspicion over the discovery of Dane guns in their vehicle.
“I have seen a lot of people complaining that justice for Deborah. If you haven’t forgotten the Southerners, Deborah was not killed for no reason. Deborah was killed because she abused the Holy Prophet , our beloved Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
“Have you ever seen any northerners abusing Jesus? No. There is no northerner that has abuse Jesus. It has never happened.
“We have never abused Jesus and we will never. Let me tell you what you don’t know. In Islam, if you abuse Jesus, you are no more a Muslim, that is Prophet Isa as we know Him.
“The only difference between we and you people is we only believe that Jesus is a Prophet. He is a messenger sent from Allah, that is God, the creator of all creations.” He said.
The man issued the 48-hour ultimatum, noting that Tinubu and Okpebholo should be held responsible once the retaliation against Christians across the northern states begins.
“If actions are not taken over these 16 northerners that are killed, anything that happens to your people here in the North, you are the ones that causes it.
“Mr. President, Bola Tinubu, this is a message directed to you. And His Excellency, the governor of Edo state, Mr. Monday, this is a message also directed to you.
“You know you have many of your people in the North, especially Borno state, Kano state, Jos, Kaduna, and around Adamawa people.
“There are many Christians there. We won’t consider whether you are from Edo, whether if you are from Cote D’Ivoire. Definitely if you are a Southerner, the things that will follow are caused by you people. That is you and President Tinubu. Mr. Monday, action must be taken within 48 hours because we will do this thing when it is very harsh. We won’t allow our heart to have patience.
“Let this be this be the last warning. 48 hours is enough. Time is not against you, time is against us.” He said.
